April 12 & 13 Breaking Ground: a mixed repertory program

Paquita, choreography by Marius Petipa | Through dance with an exuberant Spanish flare, Petipa’s great divertissement has become one of the most popular classical ballets performed today. Le Corsaire, choreography by Marius Petipa | One of the greatest showcases of the classical repertoire, Le Corsaire merges feminine delicacy with masculine virtuosity. Silent Conversation, choreography by Brandon Ragland | Playing on the moments of silence, the fluid choreography of Silent Conversation uses space and body language to explore the dynamics of relationships. Spring Waters, choreography by Asaf Messerer | Drawing from the athleticism and bravura of Russian ballet, Messerer’s Spring Waters pas de deux rushes across the stage with the joyful exuberance of a new spring. Ten Beautiful Objects, choreography by Adam Hougland | Fresh off last season’s dazzling Unyielding Radiance, Adam Hougland’s newest piece of powerful choreography with designs by Sandra Woodall, one of the ballet world’s foremost and intriguing designers, is created especially for the men of the Louisville Ballet.

October 5 & 6 Lady of the Camellias

choreography by Val Caniparoli Based on the famous novel La Dame aux Camellias by Alexandre Dumas fils, Val Caniparoli’s beautiful choreography transports us to Paris of the 19th-century where Marguerite, a Parisian courtesan, is embroiled in a story of love and loss to save her lover’s honor. Approximate run time: 2 hours with intermissions

October 31-November 3 | 8:00 p.m. Studio Connections

A new in-studio program that allows you to see an extraordinary range of choreography in an extraordinarliy intimate setting. Tickets for in-studio performances are available for purchase at the Louisville Ballet Box Office by phone at (502)583-2623 or in-person at 315 E. Main Street. All performances begin at 8:00 p.m. Subscriber ticket price: $20 | Non-subscriber ticket price: $25 Approximate run time: 1 hour 45 minutes with intermissions Performances take place at the Louisville Ballet Studios at 315 E. Main Street. These events will sell out, and space is limited. Purchasing tickets in advance is recommended. Studio Connections is not part of a subscription package.

choreography by Val Caniparoli Experience the joy of the season with this holiday favorite! For decades, the Louisville Ballet has enchanted you with the magical world of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Now is the perfect time to introduce your children to this wonderful holiday tradition…or maybe reconnect with the child in you! March 1 & 2 Romeo & Juliet

choreography by Alun Jones and Helen Starr The timeless tale of Shakespeare’s two young star-crossed lovers torn apart by a bitter feud. This rich adaptation of one of the most famous of romantic ballets comes to life in a beautiful and powerful rendition of the world’s best-known love story.
