Famed Forsythe dancer, choreographer and actor Helen
Pickett makes her Louisville debut with this world premiere. Pickett
has most recently created pieces for the Washington Ballet and Boston
Ballet where one reviewer noted, “… it’s evident
the choreographer is full of innovation… it will be exciting
to see what she does next.”
Andre Prokovsky’s Vespri, set to a sumptuous
score by Verdi, showcases the elegance and grace of the classical
ballet.
The Louisville Ballet heats up the stage with the
company premiere of Twyla Tharp’s athletic and innovative work, The
Golden Section.
Created in the early 80’s when New York was filled with “raw,
gritty creative energy,” The Golden Section is a collaboration
between musical visionary David Byrne (Talking Heads) and Tharp.
