The Louisville Ballet thrives because of the
generosity of individuals, corporations, foundations and government
entities. Individual gifts, however, are the fastest growing
contributions to not-for-profit organizations such as the
Ballet and play a major role in assisting with the present
and future success of the Company.
The Louisville Ballet, the state ballet of Kentucky,
produces exceptionally high quality dance performances for
the community and region; brings innovative new work to the
stage and produces the classics with an equal sense of excitement
and energy; provides excellent training through its School;
and enhances the community’s understanding of the value
and beauty of dance through educational outreach programs
for all ages.
Individual gifts play an integral role in the
success of the Company as they reflect the value our supporters
place on the arts in the Louisville community. As you may
know, ticket sales do not begin to cover programming and production
expenses. We depend on the generosity of people like you -
people who understand and appreciate the beauty of dance and
the value the Louisville Ballet brings to this community.
A gift to the Company will ensure that it has
the essential resources it needs to produce a successful season.
Below, please find a list of expenses that the Company incurs
throughout a regular season:
- Production rights and choreographers fees
for a Company Premiere: $23,500
- Dancers’ shoes for one season: $35,000
- Conductor fees for one production: $7,000
- Youth scholarships for one year: $20,000
- Travel expenses for guest artists in one
season: $52,700
These items are critical to the creation and
production of dance. Your tax-deductible gift will aid the
Louisville Ballet in financing these necessary elements and
therefore continuing to bring the highest quality artistic
product to the Louisville community.
